Medical Expenses Tax Deduction Mistakes on Tax Forms

© edenpicturesIf you are expecting to get an income tax refund from your return this year, then you will want your tax forms to be filled out as accurately as possible. This will minimize the time it takes to get your money and any follow-up correspondence from the IRS.
One major problem that the IRS has with people is that many people put on their tax forms their medical expenses tax deduction, but then forget to subtract any amount that they were reimbursed for. Of course, the IRS already knows that you were reimbursed for it, and this will definitely put any money you have coming back to you on hold.
In order to avoid a delay on your tax refund, or problems with the IRS, be sure that you look over your medical expenses and records carefully. Then, be sure to deduct any amount that has been paid either to you, to your doctor or hospital toward that bill.
